Young and innovative entrepreneurs who wish to make the next step in their business can now participate in the Innovation Fund Challenge to win an investment in their company and mentoring by experienced, successful entrepreneurs.
Last week, Survivors Fund (SURF), the Groupe des Anciens Etudiants Rescapés du Génocide (GAERG) and the Association des Etudiants et élèves Rescapés du Génocide (AERG) signed the Memorandum of Understanding for the implementation of the Innovation Fund. For many years, AERG and SURF, supported by Inspire!Africa and several private donors, have trained young people to start their own business. That has been very successful, but many of them struggled to take the next step and grow their business due to lack of funding and skills. When GAERG, with in its membership many successful entrepreneurs, joined the team, and an American entrepreneur was willing to invest in young Rwandan companies, more possibilities became available to support business growth.
